One of the people who contested for the position of Member of Parliament in Chiradzulu South constituency Oliver Nakoma is seeking a rerun of the elections citing a lot of irregularities in the whole process of elections.

Nakaoma is accusing the elected MP Joseph Mwanamveka of bribing elections monitors by giving them k5, 000 each to salvage the whole process during voting adding that some of his monitors were not allowed to verify the results.

“There were some voting papers that were marked with tipex and l have already logged my complaint to the Malawi Electoral Commission over these allegations,” he said.

He said the results were not free, fair and credible and l have not accepted the results.

Nakoma said the outcome of the results is not a true reflection of what the people wanted on the ground hence the need for a rerun because there were a lot of anomalies.

On the same development the quasi-religious body Public Affairs Committee (PAC) has also said the  just ended tripartite elections were not credible.

Chairperson for PAC Reverend Felix Chingota said there were a lot of allegation cases that remain un solved and the whole electoral system needs to be carefully looked at.
