Malawi’s 2011 best afro pop artist Maskal left for Ireland on Wednesday, where has been invited to support Ireland Based Malawian rapper Pop Dogg at the Ireland African music awards.

Pop Dogg is a top nominee at the awards slated for Friday 7th September.

The awards are organized as a way of promoting African artists living in Ireland in what is described as an environment that is culturally diverse.

Pop Dogg has been nominated in four categories namely best rap artists, best video, best colabo and best male artist.

“Am proud to have received the invitation to support a fellow Malawian artist at such an event,” Maskal told Capital Radio Wednesday morning.

After his appearance at the awards, Maskal is expected to have a performance next week before returning to Malawi.
