United Transformation Movement (UTM) president Dr. Saulos Chilima has called on Malawians to maintain calm and peace.

Chilima said this during a press briefing he held this morning in Lilongwe.

In his remarks Chilima said anger and violence cannot solve the problems the country is facing.

Chilima continued by telling Malawians not to listen to leaders who choose violence over peace.

He then urged UTM supporters to remain peaceful and calm as they wait for the outcome of the High Court poll case

“I urge you all to remain peaceful. Choosing peace should not be mistaken as a sign of acceptance of the results or cowardice,” Chilima said.

Chilima added; “UTM supporters to hold their anger, saying he will let them know at an appropriate time when to unleash that anger .”
