President Peter Mutharika on Wednesday released his cabinet as promised during the thank you rally at Njamba Freedom Park in Blantyre.
In the recent released cabinet ministers list, the cabinet lays on regionalism as most ministers seem to be from the south despite Mutharika’s claims that his government does not favor one region.
Mutharika’s administration has been criticized by Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) on promoting tribalism when it comes to appointing of top officials in most of government’s departments.
At least 13 cabinet members out of 24 are from the south which is commonly known as ‘kuchipinda Kwa DPP’ (the regional backyard for DPP).
