Police in Zambia have arrested five suspects for allegedly beating and assaulting a member of parliament.
The incident occurred last week in which member of Parliament for Kabwata area, Given Lubinda was heavily assaulted.
Those arrested are Martin Mambwe Kankonje, Patrick Chanda of Zambia Railways compound, Major Chanda of Misisi compound, Moses Mulenga of Chunga, and Goodness Mwange of John Leing.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo in a statement has said that Martin Mambwe has been charged with assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and for conspiracy to commit a felony.
Katongo said the four others have been charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.
She said that police are still looking for one more suspect who is still on the run and they will all appear in court soon.
