Government through the office of President and Cabinet (OPC) has assured civil servants at Capital Hill total security during demonstrations.

Government is however, informing the general public that Capital Hill and all government offices will remain open throughout the normal working days and times, and that provision of government services will continue without disruption.

According to a statement OPC, safety and security is guaranteed, and therefore all civil servants are being called upon to continue discharging their duties normally from their offices.

Government continued by assuring the general public that Capital Hill and all other government offices will be safeguarded, by all means possible, so that the public is not denied services.

Today, Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) are organizing nationwide demonstrations with an aim of forcing Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) chairperson Jane Ansah to step down for allegedly mismanaging May 21 elections.
