Well-known political analyst from Livingstonia University George Phiri has hailed the resignation of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for Central region Uladi Mussa as presidential adviser on parliamentary affairs.

Mussa resigned on Friday last week, according to State House Press Officer Mgeme Kalilani.

The resignation of Mussa came barely a month after the US government banned him from travelling to United States of America for his involvement in the passport scandal.

Speaking in an interview with the press, Phiri said Mussa’s resignation is a lesson to public officers whose conduct is questionable.

He said Mussa has challenged other public officer who does not resign when the public demand them to leave office.

He added that no public official should hold the nation at ransom for personal pride.
