Lazarus Chigwandali’s life struggles have been recognised for the second time in United States following the award of best documentary at the 2019 HollyShorts film festival.
Lazarus put his journey on a motion picture to highlight to the world what those with albinism go through in Malawi and on the African continent.
Earlier this year he won the Disruptive award after the documentary premiered at the Tribeca film festival.
His music album ‘Stomp On The Devil’ came out on Friday and Lazarous will be in the United Kingdom where he will also showcase the films as well as hold music shows for the UK fans.
Among other engagements which he will undertake while in the UK during his 10 day-stay will be to meet environmentalists.
Lazarus is passionate about saving not just his kind but also stop global warming.
Apart from playing in the UK he is also headlining at this years Lake of Stars Discovery, making this his second appearance at the prestigious festival.
Johan Hugo who has been very influential in bringing Lazarus to the world stage said the win is an indication he could get an Oscar.
“We are excited and proud to have won,” Hugo said.
He disclosed they are working on new material for the world-renowned artist and plan on finishing up his music video for ‘Moyo Wanga’ a cut from the album.
