Mr Shupex Kaumba, 60, of kanyenjere village in Traditional Authority Nthalire in Chitipa district has Committed suicide after village tribunal ordered him to pay two cow to his village-mate for having sexual intercourse with his wife.
“The village court heard that the deceased was found red-handed having sex with complaint’s wife and was taken to the village head man.” PRO Gladwell Simwaka said
“At the village headman, he was ordered to compensate his friend with two cows.” He added
Fearing that he would not manage to pay the cows, he decided to hang himself.
He was found dangling under a tree about 500 metres away from his house.
Postmortem result showed that death was due to suffocation secondary to strangulation.
