An abusive husband who beat, strangled and tied up his wife before going on the run is refusing to agree to a divorce.

Mum-of-three Suzanne Hill, 53, was hospitalised for five days after husband David Jennison, 53, launched a horrific attack which left her with post traumatic stress disorder.

Jennison is currently behind bars at Manchester’s notorious Strangeways prison, after brutally beating Suzanne over a row about Britain’s Got Talent.

Suzanne’s son later found his severely injured mum stuffed into a sleeping bag with her arms tied up with a black electrical flex cord from the microwave.

Jennison is serving three years and three months with an extended licence period of three years, meaning after release he could be recalled to prison until 2024.

But Suzanne still can’t move on with her life as Jennison won’t sign their divorce papers and is demanding a financial settlement.

Suzanne, of Eccles, Greater Manchester, said: ‘He referred to what he did to me as an ‘incident’ and he’s saying it doesn’t have to end in divorce.

‘I just want to get a divorce, get away from him and move on but I can’t.’ complained Suzanne.
