Unknown people on Sunday petrol bombed a vehicle belonging to Tobacco Control Commission (TCC) at its headquarters in Lilongwe.

TCC’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) kayisi Sadala confirmed of the development in an interview with the press on Sunday.

According to Sadala, the unknown thugs petrol-bombed the twin cab Registration number 18 SC 40 at around 2 am while it was parked in front of the Head Office.

“Indeed it is true that some unknown people have petrol bombed our vehicle which was parked in front of our headquarters offices.

” I don’t know as of now the motive behind this arson as we are also waiting for the police to establish who and the motive behind this act,” Sadala said.

Sadala further said that it appears that the main intention of the arsonists was to burn the office complex as they left a burning petrol Jerry can in front of the building when they were running away from the compound.

Meanwhile the motive behind torching of the said vehicle is not known at the moment.
