Two people have died in the evening hours of Saturday in Mzimba after being involved in a road accident.

The two are Steve Nyirongo 40, who died on the spot and the driver John Ng’oma adult who died upon arrival at Mzimba District Hospital and the rest escaped with minor injuries.

According to Mzimba police station public relations officer, sub Inspector Peter Botha, Ng’oma was driving a Mazda Bongo minibus registration number KA 9614 and was coming from Edingeni direction heading towards Mquocha along the Edingeni – Mquocha earth road with four passangers on board.

“As he was passing by Edingeni Primary School, he lost control of the vehicle.

“The vehicle overturned, and due the impact the driver and one passenger sustained head injuries, leading to their deaths while the rest escaped with minor injuries, “Botha said.

The vehicle got extensively damaged.

John Ng’oma hailed from Kambewa village while Steven Nyirongo hailed from Msangulu village both in the Traditional Authority (T/A) M’mbelwa in the district.
