In Zambia, police have launched a manhunt for six criminals among them a female maid in connection with aggravated robbery, Mwebantu reports.
It is reported that the said criminals on Monday around 12:30 hours broke into the residence of a Somalian national identified as Harris Shah in the country’s capital of Lusaka.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo told Mwebantu in a statement that the criminals who are reported to have been using an unknown motor vehicle, red in color broke into the victim’s house with the help of a maid of the same residence.
Katongo said shortly after Mr Shah left home at about 12: 00 hours, the maid only identified as Aoc told Mr Shah’s wife that she was going to the toilet and immediately after she left, five men entered the premises and went straight to the laundry room.
Katongo adds that the criminals further proceeded to the kitchen where they found Mrs Shah whom they grabbed by the hand and demanded for money.
She said the criminals went away with K2, 000 cash, $ 15, 000 cash, Jewelry worth $ 7000 and four passports.
“Few minutes later, the other maid who had gone to the toilet rushed into the house, got her hand bag and ran away. Investigations have been instituted,” said Katongo.
