Extension workers in Zomba have been urged  to work hand in hand with farmers as the 2019/2020 agricultural season  is due to start  to ensure that farmers have bumper yield.

NASFAM service coordinator Frank Masankha said  the agricultural extension workers should take a leading role in enlighten farmers about increased crop production and decision making on the crop variety and agricultural methods to employ to match climate conditions.

“The Agricultural Extension Workers are there to take a leading role to enlighten farmers to have increased production. This will help them to make good decisions on crop variety and Agricultural methods to match climate conditions,” said Masankha.

Timothy Liader the agricultural extension development coordinator for Ngwelero hailed NASFAM for the training saying it has come at a good time as the climate conditions are the challenges the agricultural sector is currently facing in the country.

“The training has come at a good time because the agricultural sector currently faces challenges of climate conditions,” said Liader.

The training brought together the areas in the district in Ngwelero, Nsondole, chingale and Malosa.
