Judges hearing the historic presidential election case at the constitutional court in Lilongwe have agreed to extend the hearing time of the case to 6 pm from 5 pm as one way of expediting the case.

The agreement has been announced today after a week long break, the constitutional court has resumed hearing of the elections case in Lilongwe.

Peter Lackson Chimangeni one of the witnesses for the Malawi Congress Party  (MCP) is being cross examined by Frank Mbeta one of the lawyers representing President Peter Mutharika.

United Transformation Movement (UTM) President Saulos Chilima and his counterpart MCP leader Lazarus Chakwera are seeking for the nullification of the presidential results which declared Peter Mutharika a Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate winner of the polls.
