The South African telecommunication giant MTN has been accused of sponsoring the Taliban forces in Afghanistan.

According to the reports, a complaint that included the allegations of violating the US Anti-Terrorism Act was filed in the district of Columbia by the families of American service members killed in the Asian country.

Besides the MTN and its Afghanistan branch, the document also accused five western organisations.

The SA company’s members announced they would defend their position in court claiming that all of the business MTN had done in the past was legal with no contradiction to the international laws.
