Police in Lilongwe arrested activist and politician, Jessie Kabwila, last night.
National Police Spokesperson James Kadadzera has confirmed the arrest.
UTM Spokesperson, Joseph Chidanti Malunga, has also confirmed Kabwila’s arrest.
Reasons for the arrest are not yet known but activist, Billy Mayaya, says the arrest is in connection to Kabwila’s speech during Human Rights Defenders Coalition-HRDC demonstrations in Lilongwe on Thursday.
