After spending one more night in cell United Transformation Movement (UTM) Jessie Kabwila as the Lilongwe Resident Magistrate Court has shelved to today ruling on her bail application.

Kabwila appeared in court yesterday following her arrest on Saturday on charges of inciting violence and intimidating public officers.

 

She has since been officially charged with two counts of proposing violence at an assembly and uttering words to prejudice judicial procedures.

However the state applied for a further 5 days for it bring to court full disclosures in relation to the case.

The UTM party however maintains that the arrest of Kabwila is based on political grounds.
