Police in Nkhotakota district yesterday arrested Group Village Headman (GVH) Chioza for allegedly defiling a-11-year-old girl.
Nkhotakota police station publicist Williams Kaponda said GVH Chioza, 48, whose real names are Mussa Sabiti, on January 14, 2020 enticed the victim with K 150. 00 and took her to an abandoned house.
“While there, he successfully defiled the victim and threatened her not to reveal to anyone,”
“Days later, the young girl had difficulties in walking and after being questioned , she revealed what happened,” he said.
The case was reported to Benga Police Unit and the suspect was immediately arrested.
He has since been charged with defilement.
Benga health centre medical examination report confimed that the girl was defiled.
The suspect hails from Chioza village in the area of Senior Chief Mwadzama in Nkhotakota district.
