One person is reported dead while three others have sustained injuries in Nsanje following heavy rains being experienced in the Southern part of Malawi.
The incident happened in the area of Traditional Authority Chimombo in Nsanje District, according to Acting Nsanje District Disaster Risk Management Desk Officer Martin Chiwanda.
Chiwanda said the deceased died after being swept away by heavy floods.
Following the rains, three others escaped with various degrees of injuries in Chief Ndamera’s area after walls of their houses collapsed on them.
The three are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
