Information reaching Faceofmalawi indicates that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is this morning applying to the High Court to set aside the order given by a magistrate in Zomba cancelling businessman Thom Mpinganjira warrant of arrest.

Mpinganjira was granted bail at midnight, a development that has angered the general public including ACB Director Reyneck Matemba.

Matemba says he has travelled to Blantyre to personally make the application.

Mpinganjira is accused of attempting to bribe Judges handling the Presidential polls case where Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and United Transformation Movement (UTM) are seeking nullification of the May 21 polls.

Meanwhile Mpinganjira’s bail has attracted mixed reactions on the social media with many faulting the Judiciary.
