The newly organization aimed at fighting for good governance Centre for Democracy and Development Initiative has given President Peter Mutharika 48 hour ultimatum to address pressing issues currently affecting Malawians.

This has been said in an open letter by the Acting Executive Director for the organization who is also the former presidential aide Sylvester Namiwa.

The letter has been released at a time President Mutharika returned home from United Kingdom where he attended the UK African summit.

Namiwa said the organization has issued the letter to remind the president about pressing issues currently affecting the common people.

He said among other issues stressed in the letter are hunger, human rights abuse by the police and continued threats to Human Rights Defenders Coalition members by people from government.

Namiwa has therefore said the organization is looking forward to having the answers from the president by the end of 48 hours.
