As tension is building up ahead of the grand ruling on the Presidential polls case where Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and United Transformation Movement (UTM) are seeking nullification of the May 21 polls, Joyce Banda Foundation School in Blantyre has been temporally closed over security fears.
The Constitution Court on Tuesday announced that it will deliver its ruling on Presidential polls case on February 3, 2020.
Following sensitivity of the case, there fears that ruling may cause chaos in the country as one side (either the applicant side or the defendant side) will not be pleased.
Due to these fears, Joyce Banda Foundation School has been closed indefinitely over security fears.
Joyce Banda Foundation Managing Director Roy Kachale Banda confirmed of the development in a letter dated January 27, 2020 addressed to parents and guardians seen by Faceofmalawi reporter.
According to the statement, the school will be re-opened on February 6, 2020.
