Airlines aircraft sustained some injuries on Wednesday after the plane skidded off the runway in Istanbul, during what has been described as a rough landing at the airport.

The aircraft which was carrying 177 passengers and six crew members arrived from the city of Izmir. In video footage which emerged immediately after the unfortunate incident appears to show passengers leaving the Boeing 737 aircraft through gaps in the fuselage.

The aircraft split into three pieces during the accident.  The country’s transport minister Cahit Turhan has confirmed the incident and revealed that there have not yet been any casualties,  Skynews reports.

Pegasus Airlines has confirmed a crash happened but has not provided any more details.

Live footage from the crash site shows rescue crews around the now-wrecked fuselage— the part in which you sit as a passenger —of the Aircraft. Photographs also viewed by this publication shows damaged passenger seats. Paramedics are also on the scene with stretchers and appear to be attempting to make a rescue from the wreckage.
