Political analyst Justine Dzonzi has said the High Court will dismiss the application by 120 former Members of Parliament who are seeking legal redress following a decision by the constitutional court nullifying the May 21 polls.

On Monday, the Constitutional court nullified the disputed May 21, 2019 Presidential polls and called for fresh election.

Following this decision, former MPs led by Frank Mwenefumbo, Patricia Kaliati, Henry Mussa and Atupele Muluzi ganged up on Thursday to seek for a fresh parliamentary election.

MPs are using the recent ruling as a backing point.

But Dzonzi said chances are high that the court will throw-out the application due to time factor.

According to Dzonzi, the constitution allows any losing candidate to file a law suit within a period of 7 days from the day the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) declares winner of any election in the country.
