Newly elected Lilongwe South Member of Parliament Peter Dimba has been sworn in this morning.
The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) declared Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Peter Dimba as a winner for Lilongwe South Constituency in the by-elections took place on January 30, 2020.
Announcing the results, MEC chairperson Justice Jane Ansah said Dimba got 11,230 votes beating four other contenders.
The by-elections were postponed last year due to reported cases of violence during the campaign period after Mazizi complained to MEC over violence in the area.
