United Transformation Movement (UTM) Secretary General Patricia Kaliati has rebuked some party officials against politics of castigation saying it is a waste of time.

Kaliati said this on Sunday in Mwanza during the party’s political rally dubbed ‘judgment victory rally’

Kaliatu said castigating other parties is “wasting” their time instead of focusing on ways to end challenges haunting poor Malawians.

During a political rally at Chibavi Ground in Mzuzu, Director of Strategic Planning, Norman Nyirenda, and Regional Governor for the North, Leonard Njikho took turns to castigate other parties.

But Kaliati spoke against the tendency arguing parties can work together to save the country.

Njikho admitted speaking out of anger claiming the northern region is mostly disadvantaged in terms of tangible developments.

Kaliati said the party would announce in due course whether it would go solo or enter into an electoral alliance ahead of the fresh presidential poll.
