In a dramatic events Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) cadets were forced to clean at former head of state the late Bingu wa Mutharika’s Mpumulo wa Bata in Ndata, Thyolo after Malawi Congress Party (MCP) trio pledged to clean the place.

The Kokoliko trio, Anthony Bendulo, Peter Lackson and Daudi Suleman made a pledge to clean the last home of the fallen leader on March 4 after being concerned with how shabby the place looked in pictures that went viral on social media.

The move planned by the Kokoliko trio came to the DPP cadets as a slap to which forced them to do the work before their rivals to the shine from them as people were already commending the Kokoliko trio and shaming the cadets in most of the comments.

In their defense on the criticism they (cadets) had received from people on social media, they said each and every year they go to do a clean-up exercise at Ndata saying this year they had planned to do the work after rainy season was over.

In the morning hours of yesterday, cadets were seen trimming glass that grew at the resting place of the former president.

Meanwhile, social media is awash with different views and opinions following the move taken by the cadets as some have said the move by Kokoliko trio was a wakeup call to the cadets.
