United Democratic Front (UDF) spokes person, Ken Ndanga rebuffed UTM as a tinny party that has 4 MPs in the parliament.

Ndanga said this during the joint rally for the alliance between United Democratic Front (UDF) and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) on Sunday in Blantyre at Njamba freedom park.

UTM has only 4 Members of parliament in the August House while Malawi Congress Part (MCP), the main opposition party has 50 MPs, UDF has 10 MPs.

Ndanga mocked Chilima through a chichewa proverb ” ndiwine! ndiwine! anabwerako ndima MP 4″.

UTM was formed as a breakaway movement from DPP in 2018 and contested in the May 21 2019 tripartite elections.

It ended on position 3 and only 4 MPs from the party won.
