Mchinji District Council says it is set to start the construction of Kapiri Market and Bus Deport.

District Commissioner (DC) for Mchinji, Bester Mandere said Mchinji is not doing well in revenue collection and the projects will help in boosting its revenue.

“We believe these structures will help us increase the amount of revenue that we normally collect,” he said.

Senior Chief Dambe, hailed the projects for that they will change the face of Mchinji completed and also they will create jobs for the locals.

“For so long, our district council has been failing to collect enough revenue, so with the two projects, we hope the revenue will improve and will create more jobs for the locals,” he said.

The construction of the two facilities will cost close to K1 billion and will take a year to complete.
