In India – A man in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh was nabbed on Monday for allegedly murdering his friend. The man was upset with his friend as the latter had introduced his son to alcohol and had encouraged his drinking habit.

The deceased was identified as Anees. The incident first came to light when the police found the deceased’s body on a street in Kiratpur.

The accused, identified as Talib shot Anees dead on March 14 (Saturday). The body was initially found by the deceased’s family.

The family approached the police and lodged a complaint against unidentified persons. In their complaint to the police, the deceased’s family claimed that they suspected foul play on Talib’s part.

The suspicion of the police grew stronger after they learned that the 40-year-old man was on the run.

The police launched an investigation into the case and arrested Talib from a bus stand in Kiratpur on Monday. The police took the accused for interrogation, during which, he confessed to the crime.

Sanjeev Tyagi, superintendent of the police told reporters, “He confessed to the crime and said Anees was a criminal and an addict who had served some months in Bijnor jail earlier. Anees frequented his house and befriended him. ”

Talib and Anees used to consume alcohol together. However, in Talib’s absence, Anees introduced his son to alcohol. Talib’s teenaged son allegedly started drinking and soon, was addicted to alcohol.

According to Tyagi, Talib had asked Anees to maintain distance from his son but the latter did not listen. Tired of his friend’s behaviour, Talib decided to kill him.

The accused attacked his friend with a knife at night. The knife, however, broke and the accused used a countrymade pistol to kill his friend.
