A Rwandese businessman has been killed and some family members injured in Nkhotakota by suspected armed robbers who went away with over K 3 million, a Minibus and other things.
The incident occurred during the night of Sunday 29 march, 2020 in the deceased’s house at Mgomba village in the area of Traditional Authority (TA) Malengachanzi in the district.
The deceased has been identified as Peter Francis, 56, owner of Peter Shop operating as a wholesale and retail at Nkhotakota Trading Centre.
Narrating the ordeal, his wife Bosibose Shomtal, 38, said, after midnight suspected armed robbers forcefully broke in their house through the kitchen door.
Then they forced their entry in sleeping rooms.
Once in the main bedroom where they found the deceased and the wife they demanded money and the car keys.
In due course, they took away over K 3 million, four mobile phones and a Minibus Toyota Hiace registration number MH 4502.
During the robbery, they stabbed the deceased on his right ribs with a knife and injured his son Ferdinand Mizero, 26, who is currently admitted to Nkhotakota District Hopsital.
Meanwhile robbers who took Nkhotakota-Salima road dumped the Minibus at Kangamowa bordering village with Ntchisi district.
Postmortem results according to Nkhotakota District Hospital officials’ death of the deceased was due to internal bleeding.
The police have since instituted manhunt investigations and therefore appeal to the general public for any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects.
