Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and United Transformation Movement (UTM) youth have penned President Peter Mutharika and Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) chairperson Jane Ansah ahead of fresh presidential elections.

MCP youth who are known as Kokoliko Movement and their counterpart UTM youth professionals are currently holding a press briefing in Lilongwe where among others are outlining alleged rigging plans by the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in the forthcoming fresh presidential election.

They claim that Mutharika has acquired a gadget Virtual Private Network (VPN) to intercept electoral results at the Statehouse.

One of the speakers at the briefing, Daudi Suleman said they know all the plots by DPP to rig the next elections by registering minors.

Suleman added that the employment of new National Registration Bureau (NRB) boss Macford Somanje is there to help deter registration figures in the NRB database for DPP’s advantage.

According to Suleman, the youths are not representing their respective parties.

The youths have since warned president Peter Mutharika to stop the rigging plot or face the wrath of the people.

DPP and the bureau are yet to respond to the allegations.
