Vendors are still in the streets of Blantyre despite a ban that the council has placed against such gatherings.
The City Council on Monday laid out a mandatory ban on shopping centres, public buses, banks, the hospitality industry and all public places as the country is scaling up precautionary measures against the spreading coronavirus.
The order followed a national ban on public gatherings that President Peter Mutharika has made.
However, through our snap checks in the city of Blantyre, vendors and traders are still operating and are still drawing relatively larger crowds.
Some of the vendors insist they will still occupy the spaces because they have not been given alternative market places.
