A woman identified as Suzanne Hoylaerts has died of Coronavirus after refusing ventilator and prefered it to be used to save a younger person’s life.

The deceased was admitted to the hospital for two weeks after showing signs and symptoms of the deadly coronavirus.

The Belgian tested positive for the virus and was quarantined for two weeks in order for her not to spread it to others.

Suzanne Hoylaerts refused the ventilator being given to her by the doctors.

“I don’t want to use artificial respiration. Save it for younger patients, I already had a good life,” she told the doctor.

Ms Suzanne passed away two days after being admitted at the hospital.

Judith her daughter told Dutch newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws that “I can’t say goodbye to her, and I don’t even have a chance to attend her funeral.”

Judith questioned how her mother had contracted the coronavirus, given that she had been isolating.

In Belgium, 705 people have died after testing positive for COVID-19.

The country now has 12,775 official coronavirus cases.

Among those, 1,021 people are in intensive care.
