Following an increase number of Covid-19 cases in the country, government has banned Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) voter registration exercise with immediate effect.
The ban comes in barely few hours after the country confirmed additional three coronavirus cases with two in Blantyre and 1 in Chikwawa his morning.
The exercise is preparations for July 2 presidential fresh elections.
According to the minister of Health Jappie Mhango the two patients are said to have been in contact with the first and second patients of the virus in the commercial city whilst the other one just arrived in the country from South Africa.
Apart from voter registration exercise, government has also banned market days in villages across the country.
Malawi is one of last African countries to register case of Coronavirus.
So far Malawi has 7 cases with one death confirmed.
