A crime suspect on remand at Domasi prison in Zomba, and was in isolation as a Corona virus suspect, has escaped jail.
The suspect is alleged to have escaped from the prison on Monday morning.
Director of health and social services for Zomba district, Dr. Alexander Chijuwa confirmed of the development in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS).
According to Chijuwa, samples of the suspect were already taken to Blantyre for testing.
He said that chances are very low that the suspect may have contracted of COVID-19.
