Unconfirmed reports reaching Face of Malawi are indicating that people from Lilongwe are today expected to be on the streets protesting against lockdown.

The reaction follows a declaration by the Minister of Health Jappie Mhango that the country will go into a 21 day lockdown.

According to Mhango the decision has been made to contain the rapid spread of the deadly Coronavirus which has caused panic and fear around the globe.

The announcement has caused stir as people in the business sector are not comfortable with the idea hence resorting into protests to express their concerns.

Meanwhile there are running battles in Limbe between the police and vendors.
