India – A pregnant woman from Jharkhand claimed that she was forced to clean up her own blood at a hospital located in Jamshedpur. The woman also said that during her visit to the hospital, she was accused of spreading coronavirus.
After the incident came to light, the Jharkhand Police took cognizance and the senior superintendent of police (SSP) Jharkhand was asked to conduct at the investigation of the incident.
Identified as Rizwana Khatun, the woman visited the hospital on Thursday after she started bleeding severely. She was taken to the MGM Hospital located in Jamshedpur.
The woman said that during this time, she was abused and was asked to wipe her own blood. The woman said that she could not clean her blood as she was shivering, The Indian Express reported.
In her letter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the woman has claimed that she was thrashed with slippers when she could not clean her blood. The woman wrote further, “I was beaten up with slippers. I was shocked and rushed to a nursing home, there it came out that my child had died.
Jharkhand Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh said that they are looking into the matter. No arrest has been made so far.
