Malawi broadcasting Corporation (MBC) has apologized to public for airing a wrong content in its Chichewa news bulletin which contained a picture of vulgar language.

According to state broadcaster, the picture was “erroneously used”

MBC added that it was no intention for the media house to beam the said picture saying it was “a serious oversight on the part of those who are responsible for editing and quality control”

In a press statement seen by this publication, MBC stressed that it policies does not allow the use of vulgar language in any mode of their platforms.

“This serious mishap is sincerely regretted. Steps are being taken to remedy the same,” reads the statement.

MBC has since assured its viewers that they will “endeavor a thorough check of our content before it is brought on the public platform.” Saying the incident was very unfortunate.

The state funded broadcaster further distanced itself from the content the picture carried saying that the views expressed in the picture were not theirs.
