There was maximum drama last week after a Zimbabwe woman caught her philandering husband red-handed with her younger sister whom he is alleged to be having an illicit affair with.

The jilted woman pounced on the pair following a tip-off.

The heated confrontation ended in a wild car chase after the alleged cheats sped off,  with the wife in hot-pursuit. The alleged philander, Innocent Tshuma is reported to have ended up stopping the car after failing to shake off his wife, only identified as Angeline.  He is alleged to have then brutally assaulted her.

According to reports reaching iHarare, the accused, a former finance director for Hwange Local board, has been dragged to court for bashing his wife after she caught him red-handed with his mistress, Claudy, who also turns out to be her younger sister.

Sources close to the couple have revealed that Angeline’s marriage to Tshuma is on the rocks because of his adulterous relationship with his sister-in-law which is said to have been going on for some time.

Appearing before Hwange Magistrate Rangarirai Gakanje, Tshuma who is facing two counts of physical abuse was slapped with a $3 000 fine. Failure to pay the fine will result in him being jailed for three months.

The court heard that sometime last week, Angeline received a tip-off that Tshuma was with her younger sister at the couple’s butchery.

After driving to the shop, Angeline found the love-birds already driving off.  Angeline then tried to stop them but her efforts fell flat. Sensing danger, Tshuma sped off, with Angeline in hot-pursuit.

He later stopped the car after noticing that she was not giving up on the chase.  Tshuma then assaulted Angeline for being wreckless and putting their children’s lives in danger as they were riding in her car.

Prosecutor Metelia Sibanda said later on when they got home, Tshuma used a belt to assault his wife in the couple’s bedroom.

The wife later pressed assault charges against him, leading to his arrest.
