In South Africa, Mpumalanga residents were left reeling in shock over the weekend after a 35-year old man killed his 25-year-old girlfriend in cold blood following an argument.
The gruesome incident took place in South Africa’s coal mining township, Vosman, on Saturday.
According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Brigadier Leonard Hlathi, the accused allegedly fatally assaulted and strangled his lover after an altercation.
Speaking to South African tabloid, DailySun, Brig Hlathi said, ‘Upon hearing commotion, the suspect’s uncle who resides in the same yard rushed to their room with an intention to intervene but found the woman lying motionless. He then alerted the neighbours who in turn notified police and medical personnel.’
He said the woman was certified dead at the scene and police immediately arrested the suspect for murder.
