Minister of Information Mark Botomani has dismissed allegations that the ministry is unfair when it comes to cautioning media houses on the use of indecent and insulting languages.
This follows a statement which was released by the ministry of information within the week cautioning some media houses for airing out indecent language during the fresh presidential election campaign.
Critics however have accused the government of being biased after failing to punish the state controlled Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) for airing indecent language against the Vice President Saulos Chilima.
In a related development, Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) has also threatened three media houses of having their licenses revoked for airing insulting remarks by political leaders during campaign.
