Former Vice president Khumbo Kachali has called on the country’s three arms of government to respect one another.

The call has been made following the uncertainty that remains over the date for the fresh presidential election as the executive and judiciary differ on the 2019 presidential election case ruling.

In his state of National address on Friday President Peter Mutharika insisted that the court has set a precedence by which next election will be even more disputable.

Mutharika however backed himself over the recent comments about the judiciary as merely his views.

But in reaction to the latest developments, Kachali says there is need for the arms of government to correlate properly in matters of democracy and ensuring in the end that peace reigns in the country.
