Parliament of Malawi is making room in its warehouses in readiness to receive ballot materials after the Fresh Presidential Election which takes place on Tuesday, 23rd June, 2020.
Section 119 of the Parliamentary and Presidential Elections Act mandates the Clerk of Parliament to safely store used election materials for a period of 12 months after the election.
The exercise involves shifting ballot materials used in the May, 2019 tripartite election within the warehouse to create space for the Fresh Presidential Election materials.
Parliament of Malawi has warehouses in Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu.
The exercise is being conducted under the watchful eye of Malawi Defense Force, Malawi Police Service as well as Malawi Electoral Commission and the Judiciary.
