Citizen for Transformation (CFT) leader Timothy Mtambo has been appointed as Minister of Civic Education and National Unity.

This has been confirmed following the release of a 31 Member Cabinet appointed by the newly elected President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

Mtambo resigned from Human Right Defenders Coalition (HRDC) and campaigned heavily for Tonse Alliance ahead of the fresh Presidential polls.

Chakwera has also loped in Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) top official Rashid Gaffer as Minister of Mining to the surprise of many Malawians.

Gaffer made headlines a week ago after it was revealed that he sold two of his buses to former President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

The buses were donated to Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers Football Clubs.
