Operators of public commuters Blantyre have threatened to protest over the recent order by Minibus Owners Association of Malawi for them to stop paying minibus touts in the country.
The order follows a spate of violence that took place in Limbe as people reportedly fought over ownership of some Minibus stages.

In reaction, the minibus owners body sanctioned an end to use of the touts and threatened to deploy police officers to evacuate them.
A representative of the drivers, Asmat Sakalante said the drivers find the order illegal because they were not consulted saying they will resist against the order.
The drivers staged a mini demo this morning in a bid to show their discontent with the order.
