A woman from Muzaffarpur was allegedly thrashed and stripped naked by locals. A video of the incident was also uploaded on social media. The woman’s peril did not end here, the police allegedly refused to register an FIR in relation to the incident after the woman approached them.
The incident took place at the Andhrathadi village of Muzaffarnagar. The woman was allegedly assaulted by an Anganwadi worker, her husband and some of the villagers. The Anganwadi worker was identified as Leela Devi and her husband was identified as Moti Mehto.
After the woman was assaulted, the woman had an argument with Leela and her husband. Following this, the woman approached the cops and submitted a complaint.
Irked at the woman’s decision of approaching the police, Leela gathered the villagers outside her home. At around 9 am, the villagers allegedly attacked the woman. Leela Devi and the villagers allegedly dragged the woman out of her home and started thrashing her, Dainik Bhaskar reported.
The accused took the woman to an intersection where they rained blows on her. Following this, the accused stripped the woman naked. The woman accused 13 persons of their involvement in the case.
