State vice president Saulos Chilima this morning had a meeting with United Kingdom Charge d’Affaires Mr. David Beer.

Writing on his Facebook page, Chilima said the Mr. Beer pad him a courtesy call on his re-elections as Malawi’s vice president in the June 23 fresh presidential elections.

According to Chilima the duo discussed a number of issues some of them being how to speed up the progress on the country’s public sector reforms agenda.

In the previous government Chilima headed the reforms sector but could not succeed following a fall off with his boss former president Peter Mutharika.

During the campaign period, Chilima was vowed to work on reforms in the government’s public sector once in government.

Chilima added that fighting corruption was also the topic during the meeting and expanding the country’s economy.
