Minister of Civic Education and National Unity Timothy Mtambo has said government is impressed with how people in the country are holding those in authority accountable.
Mtambo made the remarks this morning during a press briefing in the capital Lilongwe when he addressed members of the press to clear the air created over appointment of his Personal Assistant Lyson Sibande.
After Mtambo was appointed into President Lazarus Chakwera’s cabinet, he appointed Sibande to be his personal assistant, the news did not excite many.
Members from the Tonse Alliance, expressed discomfort with Sibande’s appointment who is being labeled a Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) cadet.
Most people had argued that Sibande was not so long ago, a vocal Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) cadet.
Yesterday, Sibande came in the open to respond on critics made and rendered his letter of resignation from the post.
